You're right: I cannot be that dense; it is a physiological and psychological impossibility. Pity the same cannot be said about you, my brother.
You're also right that it was me who said "it has ALMOST neer been the case..." AND, because I stipulated ALMOST, I have no problem (neither logical flaw) in acknowledging the example you raised doesn't fall under my ALMOST never the case. That's kind of what ALMOST means: MOST will fall under the treatment, SOME might not. Simple, see it now? |
Dave, the whole of this conversation isn't about what I said remember? It's about how you thought when I was comparing rape victims I somehow was comparing them to the terrorist activity, remember? |
Well, uh, not exactly. We were talking about your stupid paralell between what a rape victim FEELS and how you can KNOW a terrorist....but I dispelled all that when I stipulated that, because I said "almost," I am perfectly comfortable stipulating that you don't know how a rape victim feels unless you've been a rape victim.
Gee, you really AREN'T very good at this, are you? Do you see how easily I stop your fallacies and misdirections in their tracks?

So, what you are now saying is that, on second thought, you suppose it is demonstrably accurate what I originally said, that it is SOMETIMES been the case that it takes one to know one.
Isn't that the point I was original making in my first post? I think so. |
Then you think in error. I said "almost never..." which does, as you point out, mean it CAN be the case or is SOMETIMES the case, but you didn't allow for that in your original, juvenile statement. You laid down the (schoolyard, "nya, nya ya missed me") mandate that it takes one to know one.
You simply cannot face the reality that it was a puerile thing to say.
I'm reminded of the story of the monkey who reached into the jar to snatch the peanut but could not withdraw his hand because clenching the peanut made his fist too big to get out of the opening of the jar.
He would not let go of the peanut for any reason so he sat there with his hand caught in the jar until he died of hunger.
Dave, I'm asking you to let go of the peanut. You have already lost this argument. There might or might not be future arguments you win, but your twisting and squirming, your misdirecting and obvious logical fallacies show you are firing blanks: You got nothing.
Let go of the peanut. Don't die there like that little monkey: Let go of the peanut and live to argue another day.

No, YOU were talking about that! I said in my original comment that, regarding terrorism, "It takes one to know one." The rape comment was in relation to what you said, not in any comparison to terrorism. Obviously, that point escaped you or you wouldn't have said:
GOO Dave wrote:
How is it you equate "rape" with "calling a terrorist organization a terrorist organization?" Try as I might, I JUST can't get your connection here. |
You missed that completely and now your arguing you knew what I was saying all along when in fact you clearly missed the point I was making regarding you being able to know anything how a rape victim feels.
Geez! What a buffoon!

Gee, you really AREN'T very good at this, are you? Do you see how easily I stop your fallacies and misdirections in their tracks?
No, I really don't. But I do see how completely inept you are at understanding rudimentary and basic English.
Next........... time....... I'll......... speak.......... much......... slower.......... so......... you....... can......... grasp.......... things......... easier.
Quote:
Then you think in error. I said "almost never..." which does, as you point out, mean it CAN be the case or is SOMETIMES the case, but you didn't allow for that in your original, juvenile statement.
Yes, so you were agreeing with me all along now weren't you Dave?
But that wasn't the context in which you approached it simply because you used the caveat, "not in this case" by simply saying that my original comment was:
GOO DAVE wrote:
demonstrably inaccurate
or in essence, wrong.
By saying my comment was "demonstrably inaccurate" you were saying that my original statement "It takes one to know one" with respect to the united States being a terrorist state and hence knowing other terrorist states was wrong.
You said my statement was "demonstrably inaccurate" and hence wrong.
Quote:
You laid down the (schoolyard, "nya, nya ya missed me") mandate that it takes one to know one.
No, I made this statement, "It takes one to know one" prior to any comment by you. You found fault in this missive by saying it was "demonstrably inaccurate" remember.
Quote:
You simply cannot face the reality that it was a puerile thing to say.
This is incorrect as well.
I said specifically that:
RND wrote:
I have to work with the audience I've been given Dave, what can I say!
So, I was in concurrence that what I said was indeed childish, but that was necessary to reach the audience you provide.
You missed another one then in that regard, which again, does not surprise me!
Quote:
I'm reminded of the story of the monkey who reached into the jar to snatch the peanut but could not withdraw his hand because clenching the peanut made his fist too big to get out of the opening of the jar.

Let go of the peanut. Don't die there like that little monkey: Let go of the peanut and live to argue another day. |
That's an amusing little diddy GOOD ave, it really is.
But then again, I don't seem to be the one arguing the about the context of a post you clearly did not understand. My advice, let it go Dave. Admit you missed the entirety of the context of a post that even the most basic simpleton could have gathered in and simply walk away.
No one will think any less of you than they already do if you just walk away from it.
Now again, just to recap, you say in retort to my "It takes one to know one" barb that:
GOO Dave wrote:
What a puerile thing to say.
To which I agreed by saying, "I have to work with the audience I've been given Dave, what can I say!" Which was clearly directed at you.
You went on further to say that that comments was:
GOOD ave wrote:
demonstrably inaccurate, to boot.
That is, as I understand it, saying in effect that my statement "It takes one to know one" was in fact wrong.
And lastly, you quipped:
GOO Dave wrote:
It has almost NEVER been the case that it takes one to know one.
To which I proceeded to give an example of how it is indeed difficult to know someone without spending a minute in their shoes by sarcastically retorting:
RND wrote:
That's why I'm sure you could tell us all about the feelings and emotions that a woman goes through as the result of being a rape victim, huh Dave?
To which you replied:
GOO Dave wrote:
How is it you equate "rape" with "calling a terrorist organization a terrorist organization?" Try as I might, I JUST can't get your connection here.
And again, lastly and the point I have been making since YOU brought this up is again this:
The reason you could draw no connection to my rape comment and terrorism is because there was no such connection to be drawn.
What an absolute buffoon you are! _________________ Virus protection for the mind - www.heavenlysanctuary.com

THERE now! Was that so difficult. You could have said this at the outset and saved yourself the humiliation of the whuppin' I've had to give you.
The first step towards a solution is recognizing you have a problem.
You're on your way now. Congratulations.

I would have thought you'd quit setting yourself for ridicule and scorn due to a sincerely difficult case of having your headshovedupyourasssofar itmaynevercomeout, but I was wrong.
Apparently you don't seem to realize that you were the butt of the original joke. Oh, well.....

I said that, and thus admitted such, at the very outset when I made the comment in the first place! Let's go over this one more time:
You said:
"What a puerile thing to say."
To which I retorted:
"I have to work with the audience I've been given Dave, what can I say!"
This comment was clearly directed at you and inferred, by it's content in relation to your statement, that you were a child.
Whew! Man, you are as dumb as a box of sticks!

Awwww, and we were making such progress.
Rats, Now I'll bet you feel all defeated and dejected and depressed. But don't...you are bound to suffer some setbacks.
It's sufficient, for now, that you agreed with me (finally) that your comment was juvenile and punitive.
We'll work on letting go of the REST of that peanut at another time, K?

OH, so you agree with me again?
You should be careful: You can strip your gears throwing it in reverse that fast.
So do you agree it was a juvenile thing to say or don't you?
Simple, direct, straightforward question: Do you have a direct answer? A simple "yes" or "no" will do.

Well the reason Dave fails to stick is because I recognize he's as much an ass as you are and I recognize common ground is something found and experienced even amongst the indignant, intelligent, and ignorant. You are both being stupid, and frankly I could care less. But what I do care about is the wonderful laugh I get over and over again looking at what you each write to each other. Russians Will Finish Iranian Nuclear Power Plant – Putin Promises To Help Defend Iran From Attack From The West
(Best Syndication) Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to help the Iranians complete their nuclear reactor at Bushehr and to help protect the country from an attack by the west. Russia has many economic ties to the Persian country, including the contract for a nuclear power plant. The London Times reports that in a private meeting after the Summit of Caspian Nations, Putin promised to “assist Iran’s peaceful nuclear program”.
Tony Halpin in Moscow reports that Russia is building Iran’s first atomic power plant in the port city of Bushehr. Although Russia has delayed the delivery of nuclear fuel because of a delay in payments by Iran, Russian media reports that Moscow had promised to complete the work on schedule.
