The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is recommending stronger warning labels on common over the counter pain relievers including aspirin, ibuprofen and acetaminophen. Most people view drugs like acetaminophen as being completely safe, but misuse of the drug has become the number-one cause of liver failure in the US.
These common painkillers are safe if used as directed. The problem is, not everyone uses the drugs as directed, and some of the drugs, including acetaminophen, aspirin, ibuprofen and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are incorporated in other medications including cold medicines. Every year there are roughly 7,600 deaths and 76,000 hospitalizations in the U.S. due to these pain relievers.

Aspirin Resistance Increases Risk For Heart Attack and Stroke
(Best Syndication News) Researchers in Europe say that regular users of aspirin may develop an “aspirin resistance” that could put some patients at risk of stoke and cardiac events. Doctor Armen Yuri Gasparyan, MD at the City Hospital, Birmingham, United Kingdom, and colleagues conducted an extensive study which appears in this month’s issue of the Journal American College of Cardiology.
The research suggests that most patients receiving long-term aspirin therapy still remain at substantial risk of thrombotic events due to insufficient inhibition of platelets, specifically via the thromboxane A2 pathway. A Canadian study in January found that heart patients who are resistant to aspirin are four times more likely to suffer a heart attack, stroke or to die.

With drugs, there really isn't any room or margin for error. Morbidity is always increased when a cocktail regimen is prescribed along of course....negative drug interactions. Missing a period dose can be like playing with Russian roulette, so its best not to take drugs in the first place. _________________ ____________

No shit.
Too bad big pharma doesn't make any money from that and will jump out of the tv and start shoving pills down your throat pretty soon. |

The obvious precautions: NEVER mix aspirin with other blood thinners...herparin, coumadin, etc. NEVER mix aspirin with alcohol. _________________ ____________
