|
|
Threats made by American leaders are nothing new, so it is no surprise that Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has disclosed that former deputy Secretary of State, Richard Armitage said “Be prepared to be bombed. Be prepared to go back to the Stone Age” if you do not cooperate with the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan.
When prompted for more information on the subject, Musharraf told reporters "I am launching my book on the 25th, and I am honor-bound to Simon & Schuster not to comment on the book before that day." Armitage denied making the comment. But he admits warning Pakistan that it was either with the United States or against us.

| ...This type of threat reminds me of the threats made by Iranian President, Mahmud AHMADI-NEJAD. The Iranian President said he would like to wipe the country of Israel off the map. Many Americans have latched onto this comment believing it to be more than just “tough talk”. I wonder Americans will latch on to the “Stone Age” comment allegedly made by American officials.... |
When and where did the Iranian make such a remark?! |

The President of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf, has embarrassed the Bush administration for a second time alleging that the CIA had paid Pakistan millions of dollars for hundreds of al-Qaeda prisoners. The Pakistani President indicated he "war gamed" the United States.
The Times of London is serializing Musharraf’s book and has reported that the CIA paid for 369 al-Qaeda suspects. They paid for the prisoners from a fund that was meant for individuals who helped apprehend terrorists, not foreign governments.
This is the second embarrassment for the Bush administration in as many days. Musharraf said he was so angry with the United States after alleged threats made by deputy secretary of state, Richard Armitage that he "war-gamed" the US as an adversary.

Good question Hektor. I looked it up and found that Aljazeera says he made the remark back in October of 2005.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has openly called for Israel to be wiped off the map.
"The establishment of the Zionist regime was a move by the world oppressor against the Islamic world," the president told a conference in Tehran on Wednesday, entitled The World without Zionism.
"The skirmishes in the occupied land are part of a war of destiny. The outcome of hundreds of years of war will be defined in Palestinian land," he said.
"As the Imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map," said Ahmadinejad, referring to Iran's revolutionary leader Ayat Allah Khomeini.
His comments were the first time in years that such a high-ranking Iranian official has called for Israel's eradication, even though such slogans are still regularly used at government
rallies. |
There are extreme remarks made by all sides. I think bombing into the "Stone-Age" was worse. "Wipe of the Map" sounds rhetorical. |
